The brief

Boston Scientific was after national broadcast coverage timed to World Heart Day 2025. The plan was to pair a real patient story with a credible expert voice.

The angle

Our hook was a marathon world record holder with a fitted heart device who had started training to run again. We set that against a stark figure: around 480 UK deaths from heart and circulatory disease on the day itself. That gave the bulletin a sobering figure and a human story a presenter could actually talk to.

On air

Listeners heard from the record-holding runner, who has an arrhythmia, and from the person who founded Arrhythmia Alliance.

The result

The interviews clocked up 2 hours 26 minutes on air across 12 items, reaching a combined 4.2 million. Highlights included Sky News Radio, The Health and Wellbeing Network, BBC Radio London and BBC Radio Oxford.
