The brief

Damar Training aimed to become the voice broadcasters call on apprenticeships. It also wanted employers to open up more starter roles for young people.

The angle

Some 1.01 million young people aged 16 to 24 were not in work, education or training, a level not seen since 2013. Apprenticeship vacancies had also roughly halved compared with 2018 to 2019. Results day is one of the most predictable dates in the news calendar, so a sharp counterpoint gives producers something fresh.

On air

Damar Training's chief executive gave the interviews.

The result

Seven items and 1 hour 10 minutes on air added up to a combined reach of 1.9 million. BBC Radio Solent was among the stations that took it.
